While in Carson City, NAVVF will take a guided tour of the Nevada State Museum where the story of the Silver State unfolds. You'll also spend time at the State Archives for another peek at the state's rich history.

A driving tour of government and historical sites is also included. While in Virginia City, we will learn about historical sites such as the Mackay Mansion, Piper's Opera House and visit the Delta Saloon, one of the finest remaining landmarks of Virginia City, where we'll have lunch.

OPTION: Guests can ride the V & T Train round trip to Gold Hill. Adults are $4.50 each and children are $2.25 each. Price, for 45 passengers: $40.00 per person

"GRANNY'S GREAT GRIEVANCE OR WHO RUSTLED THE BUSTLE"

Prepare yourself for an evening of old-type vaudeville entertainment. Join with four of Reno's premier convention entertainers as they blend music, comedy and expert performances into a rip-roaring' good time for everyone! This one-hour production features:

sing-a-longs, costumed skits, and a contest to determine the best of the "Boob Tube Ballad Baffle". To cap the evening, "The Not Ready for Prime Rib Players" have concocted an olde-fashioned melodrama starring eight members of our group!

TRUCKEE TOUR AND EMERALD BAY CRUISE AUGUST 14, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

This tour begins with a trip to the historic town of Truckee and includes a cruise on Lake Tahoe aboard the M.S. Dixie II with lunch included. NAVVF will be transported along scenic Interstate 80 as your guide provides a narrative history of the route. Upon arrival at the train depot in Truckee, a Chamber of Commerce representative will greet us and present merchant coupons, city maps and brochures. A guided tour of the Truckee jail and other historic points has been arranged.

From Truckee, the group will wind its way over Highway 89, on into Tahoe City and along the western shore of Lake Tahoe to Zephyr Cove where we'll board the M.S. Dixie for the cruise to Emerald Bay. The Dixie II is the largest, most sophisticated paddle wheeler ever to cruise the Lake. During the cruise, there will be an xclusive video presentation of what lies beneath the brilliant blue surface of North America's largest alpine lake.

En route to Emerald Bay, we will also learn of the Lake's formation and its more recent history and inhabitants while cruising by Vikingsholm Castle and Fannette Island on this fully narrated cruise. The final leg of the trip is down Mt. Rose Highway and back to Reno via the route through the ranch-like estates in southern Reno and over Windy Hill. Price, for 45 passengers: $50.00 per person
