BIO: Benjamin left Buffalo, NY in 1861, crossed the Isthmus of Panama and sailed to Victoria, BC. He then went to the Cariboo with Isaac and started a cattle ranch. This is where he met his wife, a widow with 3 children. Their first child was born in 1868. He had contracts with the CPR to supply meat to the construction camps. He established a large butcher store in Victoria, later one in New Westminster, then Vancouver. He gradually changed all his holding back to Victoria. He also spent time and owned property in Dawson, Yukon Territories. He lived there for awhile with one of his sons, after his wife died. He died at his daughter's home in Seattle, Washington.
