NOTE: Mable Van Valkenburg Lewis, daughter of Benoni Kipp and Mary Bloodgood Van Valkenburgh was the first woman elected to a village Board of Trustees in New York State. She was Secretary for thirteen years to her Uncle Hon. Clarence Bloodgood, former attorney and New York State Senator. She was considered a valuable menber of the Board at Saugerties, NY and was serving her second term when she died in 1935. (found in old VV records of Paul I VV)
