Van Valkenburgh (Mrs James) died 21 Jun, age 41. Paper dated 2 Jul 1851.

DEATH: notice in the Macon Messenger: Died in the city of Macon, on the 21th
inst Mrs Mary E, wife of Jas Van Valkenburg, in the 41st year of her age;
eldest daughter of Nathan Church, Esq, of Troy, NY, and born in 1810; her
parents were Baptists; and both died before she was age 15; she then became
the ward of Isreal Seymore, Esq, her uncle, whose guardianship was every way
parental; married James Van Valkenburgh 1827; in 1833 joined Church under
pastoral care of Rev D Dunbar, of NYC, and of which church her husband was a
member; subsequently the family changed its membership to 16th St Baptist
Church, where her membership remained until her death, in 1847 removed to
Macon, GA...illness was Dysentery.

Seth Kellum Taylor

SETH KELLUM TAYLOR, a pioneer citizen and patriarch of a well-known Americus
family died on 3 Jul 1895 at the age of 83 yrs. A native of Pulaski Co, he had
lived in early manhood upon his plantation in Lee Co. Following his removal to
Americus he built a large house on a rural road east of the community, which
later was named Taylor St in his honor. Mr Taylor was married 3 times. His
first wife, to whom he was wed in 1830, was the former Permelia Ann Coley, of
Pulaski Co; his second bride was Miss Amanda E. M. Porter of Baker Co,, the
ceremony taking place in 1837; and his third wife was Miss Harriett L. Van
Valkenburg, originally of NY city, whom he married at Macon in 1858. (this
proved to be in error) Seth Taylor's childred were: Nancy (Mrs. McDaniel
Oliver), Cherry Ann (Mrs Erasmus L. Collier; later Mrs Wilburn) Ezekial, Thomas
Kellym, Augustus, Isaiah, Jesse, Mary Elizabeth and Lucy (Mrs John B. Felder).
The third Mrs Taylor was a sister of Mrs W. D. Haynes and Mrs D. K. Brinson,
and an aunt of Mrs Arthur Rylander, all of Americus.
